Yearning
As an artist, I love stories, both written and visual. When I visited the Gomzalez-Alvarez House in St. Augustine, often referred to as the Oldest House, the story of Maria captured my imagination. As she nursed her invalid husband in the upstairs bedroom, how often did she look out the window towards the courtyard, yearning to be outside and free from this burden?
