Born in Ohio, but truly a child of the Tennessee! Raised by a pair of 'ridge runners' in Ohio felt like a fish out of water experience for this girl, growing up. At school, I had a hillbilly accent.. but on our many trips to Putnam County, TN, I sounded like a yankee. At the age of 22, I was able to return to my heart's home (even though I was not born there) and lived in Chattanooga for 20 years. There, I taught in a variety of school settings, mostly as a Teacher of the Gifted, and would have completed an associate's degree in Design and Art for Advertising had fulltime TEACHING not called me back to the classroom. I was always a child of the wild places, finding peace on the trails (or where there were no trails) for as long as I can remember. After moving to Ocala, I achieved one childhood dream - that of having a HORSE! I ended up with two, and have many treasured memories of exploring central Florida's wild places on horseback. For over forty years, I brought my passion for discovery to my classroom. Now, it's time for me to share the SMALL BUT MIGHTY beauties I see with anyone who cares to look.
